Water Department
Rice Lake Utilities maintains a pumping and distribution system that includes four water towers with a combined 900,000-gallon capacity and over 70 miles of water mains that serve over 3,900 customers. Rice Lake residents and businesses use over 530 million of gallons of water each year. Rice Lake Utilities owns and operates four wells. Well #6 was constructed in 2017 and well #4 was abandoned in 2018. The water is treated and regularly tested to ensure Rice Lake residents and businesses receive a safe and plentiful water supply. Total capital assets of the water utility are valued at over $9 million dollars.

Under Section §141.84 of the Lead and Copper Rule Revision, all community Public Water Systems "must develop an inventory to identify the materials of service lines connected to the public water distribution sytem. The inventory must include all service lines connected to the public water distribution system regardless of ownership status."
